Very much so. Cucumber martini is on point.
goodmorning, thank you
call and ask how many they could serve in one party
No. They have a full bar
Stopped by the north plank tavern with a friend, we sat at the bar. The woodwork and craftsmanship of the bar is pretty special. A real work of art. We split a good bottle of wine and my pork chop was perfect. The owner was warm and cordial. The service was fine. I'll be back to the north plank
Fantastic, high quality food. Interesting historic location.
Service was great . The cod they served was wonderful. Honestly it was the freshest fish I have had in a restaurant in a long time. It was a good portion and was well presented on the plate.
Excellent food drinks and service!
Great food; place could use some remodeling. Where we sat , the floorboards felt as if they would cave in at any moment. Tile in bathroom is broken. I will , however, commend them on our meal. The lobster bisque , hanger steak , & carbonara were all delightful. We ordered some beignets , but they were as hard as a rock. Carrot cake is phenomenal.
Tom & Denise couldn't be better hosts, along with the rest of their great staff. Love their pairing dinners! Delicate flavors, matched well. You won't be disappointed!
Food was excellent, not your boring same old same old. Service was great, very on point & accommodating. Great knowledge of the area & personable. Will definitely go back to enjoy a delicious meal again. I highly suggest it when you want something different that is delicious.
Historic prohibition house from 1801 serving excellent libations in an authentic house. Parking is easy, the staff is friendly and attentive. All 4 dishes i tried were exceptional. Price is a little high for the serving.
Food was lovely and the ambiance was lovely. Staff very good. Worth a visit.
Perfect food! Magical staff! All desert is made in house. Creme Brulee was to die for. If I had to choose my last meal on this earth...it would be at North Plank Road Tavern.
A jewel on the corner. This would be the place to go if I had one meal in life left. The chimmichuri steak is to die for. Mrs. Sauers cider is my alltome favorite. A neat history if you read it and the bar is visually beautiful in detail. The owner is interesting and can really make a drink! A must try if you’re in the area. Quiet, quaint and small intimate place. Go, now!
The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. It reminds me of the brownstone I grew up in when I was a child in Brooklyn. Our waitress was attentive and accommodating. The food was delicious. I loved the spicy crab bisque. Definitely planning on going back.
Amazing food and great atmosphere! The building is historical dating back to at least 1801 and was once owned by the Mafia. It doesn't get much cooler than that. Would absolutely recommend to others!
Had this restaurant bookmarked a while and finally made it. We recieved a warm greeting by the owner upon arrival. Lenny waited on us and provided fabulous service. The food was delicious. I had the pork shoulder and burrata and my co-worker had the salmon. We also learned the tavern was originally a 13 room hotel off the highway in 1801. The current owner has turned the upstairs rooms into 4 rooms which are available to Airbnb. They are quite cozy and have a lovely ambiance and reasonably priced. I highly recommend a visit. They are closed on Mondays.
Great food and atmosphere! Wonderful bar food!!!
First time at the North Plank Road Tavern but not the last! Historic old building in which you can feel the history from the moment you walk in through the narrow doors and hallway. Small but very nice bar in one room with a larger dining area. The staff is very attentive and the food presentation matches the taste. North Plank also has a number of signature cocktails and house made desserts. Parking lot is located in the rear of the building.
Family owned and served, this place create an authentic and cozy atmosphere. Fantasric fresh cooked food, delicate and delicious, served at high style. Variety of inexpensive drinks, good choice of wines. The historic building preserved as it was built in 1850s
Food was excellent, great service nice ambience. Place could do with redecoration inside and outside. Prices on the high side, especially wine.
Great drinks, amazing food, cozy atmosphere. Love coming here, always leave happy and full
The garden outside is peaceful and shaded. All dishes we got were done to perfection. Service was spot on and we very need was anticipated. Highly recommended!
You know you are in good hands when YOU(me) get schooled in tequila❣️Loved our visit ❣️ Food fantastic too❣️
Great wine pairing dinner.
Loved it. Great food. Great waitress and bartender. Highly recommend
Our son attends West Point military academy and we are always looking for local or somewhat local restaurants. We ended up staying in a hotel in Newburgh for the night and stumbled upon North Plank Road Tavern. What luck! Quaint ambiance and excellent food. It is so nice to eat somewhere that isn't a chain. This place has character and the owner was really nice. He told a few stories of the history of the building/restaurant and it was very interesting. Built in 1801 (a year before West Point was started) it is very historic. Apparently back in the day cadets were not allowed to drink within 12 miles of post and this restaurant was 12.01 miles away which made it popular... enjoy a meal there to learn more!
We enjoy at least once a week. The beet salad, beef and salmon among staples of the menu that always have marvelous new treatments. The chef is every bit the equal of top NYC, LA or Philly chefs (I've lived in all). The terrace is beautifully landscaped, the 1847 building and dining rooms quirky with history, the host a love, the wait staff young and solicitous, and the bartender a gem. Go!
The staff were extremely kind and attentive. Food was absolutely flawless in every aspect I enjoyed everything ordered. The filet mignon was cooked medium well exactly as ordered and the playing was gorgeous. I honestly wish I would have remembered to snap some pictures of the meals everyone ordered but I was far too busy enjoying it. The deserts were stunningly displayed and very delicious those I did manage to snap a few pics of because everyone was shocked by how nice the presentation was. It was the best eating experience I've had so far in our area. I will be returning to try more of the menu.
A visit to this historic tavern is a must. Not just for the warm hospitality and the creative and delicious dinner choices but also for the history that has been so well preserved.
Exceptional, an amazing experience through historical time. Great food, great cocktails. A must visit for those in the Newburgh, NY area.
Wow!!! We enjoyed our visit to North Plank Road Tavern very much. We were treated like royalty by the owner and his team. They offer a first class dining experience, there is a very heavy attention to even the smallest detail and we appreciated that very much. For example, the creme brulee is made from imported vanilla beans from Madagascar. The food was delicious. The old tavern feel is kept very authentic and cozy.
NEVER expected this place to be THAT GOOD....SERVICE WAS BEYOND 5 STARS AND FOOD FROM START TO FINISH WAS TOP NOTCH. I will DEFINITELY be back and we even sat outside on the patio and it was an AWESOME TIME.
Delicious food and presentation
Fantastic atmosphere. Nice chef. Friendly wait staff. Drinks are delish. Appetizer menu is mouth watering.
What an amazing place!!! The staff is fantastic, the food is off the hook, and wines are delish. Go there today!!!
Great food. Nice atmosphere. Historical building that was once a speak easy. A must visit if you are in town.
I come into town to visit friends a few times a year from Florida and always go to this place. Never miss starting at the bar for a drink to begin the evening. The food and ambiance never miss a beat. The pea pancakes are a must have. All the specials spot on and the deserts are very creative-check out the not you dads root beer float.
Old Historic building, good food. Impressive bar. Father and son owners seem very knowledgeable about Scotch and Single Malts. They offer whiskey and wine tasting with paired food menu. Overall good experience. Had a little snafu in the bill, charged us extra (math error??) but reversed it immediately.
We left there starving ... very high priced. Service was not good at all. I read the reviews and was impressed... but was not impressed at all. The couple next to us also complained about the small portiond and said they were still hungry themselves.
WE love coming here for their tasting dinners and special occasions. The chef is very creative the staff is super friendly
Food was so delicious! My husband and I were traveling north and ate here on a Friday night. The crispy chicken was exceptional, beet salad with goat cheese delicious. Immediately feels like a dinning experience from another time, great authentic vibe of the building's history. Warm friendly service.
Best kept secret, this place is a gem. High quality gourmet menu at a very good price, relaxed environment, attentive staff, and a touch of times gone by. Found this place by accident and were very pleasantly surprised. We will be going back and next time will bring friends. This is the kind of place you want to share with people who enjoy good food, good drink, and good company.
Stopped by for cocktails only today. Delicious. Next time going for dinner .
The food is excellent! An extreme abundance of flavors that dance around the pallette. An atmosphere that is cozy, comfortable and beautiful reminiscent of the old waterfront and times long past.I went in on a whim, and realized I had one of the best meals I had ever eaten. The food was meticulously prepared.. I have dined in ritzy Manhattan 5 star restaurants and this is by far the sweetest gem I have found outside of NY city.
We stopped here for a night cap & to check out the menu. The bartender and wait staff are awesome people! Their speciality is fine dining and the menu sounds wonderful. If you don't stop for the food you must stop for the people!
Loved it! Great service and atmosphere! The owner, Tom, managed to squeeze the 3 of us in without a reservation... make one! They're busy for a reason. Appetizers were delish! My husband, my daughter, and I all loved our entree... the side dishes, however, were uninspired especially compared to the main entree, the desserts, and the appetizers. Well worth the slightly- higher- than- average prices! Would have given 5 stars if not for that!
Wonderful service and delicious food. The cucumber martini with infused gin is one of a kind. The staff is attentive and accommodating. The ambiance is spectacular. This is one of our favorite restaurants in the area.
Good food very cozy place
We went for restaurant week. The menu had a great selection. The food was absolutely amazing! The service was great and we didn't have to wait long for our meals. Can't wait to go back.
Authentic atmosphere. Muscles are the Best, bread is the best!....all of the food and service was wonderful. Can't wait to go back again.
Good food and great service. Amazing atmosphere.
Delicious food and drinks in this little gem in Newburgh. Service was attentive and decor was cozy.
